Medicare Made Simple

Navigating Medicare doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I’ll walk you through every option and help you find the coverage that fits your doctors, your budget, and your life.

Understanding Medicare

The Four Parts of Medicare

Part A: Hospital Insurance

Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, and some home health care. Most people get this premium-free if they or their spouse paid Medicare taxes.

Part B: Medical Insurance

Covers doctor visits, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services. There’s a monthly premium (typically around $185 in 2025), and it requires enrollment.

Part D: Drug Coverage

Standalone prescription drug plans from private insurers. Covers generic and brand-name medications. Can be added to Original Medicare or some Medicare Supplement plans.

Part C: Medicare Advantage

All-in-one plans from private insurers that include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D. Many include dental, vision, hearing, and fitness benefits. $0 premium options available.

Choosing Your Path

Medicare Supplement vs. Medicare Advantage

Two different ways to get more complete coverage. I’ll help you compare both.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

  • Works with Original Medicare (Part A + Part B)
  • Pays gaps like deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
  • No network restrictions — see any doctor who accepts Medicare
  • Guaranteed renewable — can’t be canceled as long as you pay
  • Usually includes Part D drug plan separately

Best for: People who travel, want predictable costs, or see specialists frequently.

Medicare Advantage

  • All-in-one plan (Part A + Part B + usually Part D)
  • Often includes dental, vision, hearing benefits
  • May have $0 monthly premium
  • Uses networks (HMO, PPO) for doctors and hospitals
  • Annual enrollment: Oct 15 – Dec 7

Best for: People who want extra benefits, lower monthly costs, or prefer one simple plan.
